I can’t find my opening line today. I have so many thoughts running through my head that I just have a jumble of words and some amazing Fall pictures from an amazingly beautiful weekend. It is the last weekend before the very disturbing election.
It was a weekend where I just shut down and stayed home with the dogs. Saturday was the first time that Petunia didn’t show up for breakfast because it turned out she caught her breakfast when an unfortunate bunny got into the fenced yard. That was not fun for the bunny or me, albeit Tunie was exceptionally proud.
It was the 82nd running of the Montpelier Hunt Races – an event I organized for 7 years before opening my own small business. I loved organizing and managing that event … so it is always a bittersweet day for me.
It was the arrival of a new washing machine that spent Saturday waltzing across the laundry room floor, before the Lowe’s crew showed up at 8AM on Sunday to rebalance it and settle it down some.
It was a weekend of up’s and down’s … of time to just “be” … to hug dogs, to ponder our country’s future, to ponder my own future … and to run a ton of laundry to catch up from the demise of my old washer.
But mostly it was just beautiful …

So let’s face this coming week. Let’s get out and vote, and hope that we can pick up the pieces of our Country, that, by the way … is already GREAT … not looking to be great again, because we have never not been GREAT!!
