Move It!

We headed out to the field Saturday afternoon, newish camera in hand.  The goal?  Get a video clip of the gang flying around the field at warp speed.  Two problems with my plan.  First, the pups had been busy all day — they supervised while I picked up branches from the last storm and then they insisted on following the mower for three hours while I whacked the grass down, so they were tuckered out before the project really got started.  And the second problem?  I am lousy at video photography!!  I got motion sickness just reviewing my twenty second clips.  I need to work on this.  Lots.

I wanted to talk about movement for some reason … maybe I was thinking of all those Olympic athletes that make movement look easy.  Maybe it was because my own movement is currently compromised by unhappy back muscles and nerves.  Who knows.  I just wanted to talk about the freedom of movement and the absolute joy that dogs express when they are having a good romp.  But we will have to save that until I can figure out how to video eight dogs in a two acre field without the viewer needing Dramamine!

And so … here are the still shots of the venture.  It was a pretty day.  The grass is still green in mid-August.  It was less then 90 degrees out.  All good in the end!

Moving or still … pictures of these guys just make me happy.  They give me a giggle.  I hope you have a dog (or eight) in your life that gets you moving and make you giggle too!
