Central Virginia turned out a perfect summer weekend for us. Low humidity, breezy, clear – cool nights — just perfect to my way of thinking. This evening the temperature started to rise, and the humidity started to creep in — but that didn’t slow us down on our evening stroll in the field.
For some reason – the water in this old horse tank, which is fed by the gutter off the shed roof, is the best water in the world to my gang.

The golden girls – my four goldfish that I brought home in the spring, come up to the surface when the dogs drink — like they are checking in and saying “howdy.”
All in all, it was a busy evening at ye olde watering hole! What can I say …. that is entertainment at our house …
I really like your pictures. did you say there were goldfish in that horse tank?

Hi. Thank you so much for looking at my blog and following! Yes — I have 4 goldfish – the Golden Girls – in the tank. I put them there in late March to try to control the mosquitos. They are all alive and happily munching away — almost triple in size! When the dogs drink, they come to the surface to visit. Blanche is the most friendly – go figure!
